previous experience: Extensive experience in the use of research equipment, high technical know-how in methods required for the implementation of research from more than 20 national and European research projects (including services offered to the private sector), creation of a national network of academic cooperation on diversification of fisheries and aquaculture product, published research papers in the field (i.e. artificial propagation of mullets and sparids, genetic analysis of fish meals constituents, filleting yield, assessment of functional constituents in fishes, shrimps, cephalopods and bivalvia, toxicity assessment, microbiological spoilage, aminoacid profiling, etc).


EXPERTISES:


Expertise: A University Laboratory of the Department of Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics (DNSD) at International Hellenic University (IHU), established in 2018. Six academic staff members, two technicians, post-graduate and graduate students assemble achieving significant outputs in teaching and implementing research in the field of Biochemistry of Nutrition and Food Science. Research activities in the field of Blue Economy are mainly focused on: (a) the aquatic organisms biology and environmental physiology, (b) the nutritional benefits assessment and public health risk of seafood, (c) the diversification and functional promotion of seafood products.
