previous experience: The Laboratory of Investigation, Analysis & Evaluation of Food and Nutritional Habits of the Department of Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics is pursuing research in the general area of food sciences and human nutrition. Research activities in the field of Blue Economy are mainly focused on aquatic microbiology, the use of photoautotrophic cultured microalgae in human nutrition and the potential risk to human health arising from toxic microbiota and/or biotoxins in waters, dietary supplements and aquatic fauna. Dr E. Vardaka, as a staff member of the lab, has more than 20 years experience in collaborative projects (e.g. universities, national and international public and private research institutes), in scientific research of aquatic microbiology, an extensive experience in the use of research equipment, high technical know-how in methods required for the implementation of research, and published research papers (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Elisabeth_savi_Vardaka).
