previous experience: Tourism Generis, since 2015 has been both engaged in and implemented various research and consultancy projects in cooperation with local & regional councils, government offices, organizations (e.g. SETKE, PROTOUR) as well as with industry entities (e.g. EVERIT). Collaborations worth mentioning, in a regional level, were about improving the tourism competitiveness in the Region of Ionian Islands (“Research project for the strategy and the action plan towards the improvement of tourism competitiveness in the Region of Ionian Islands”, 2018) and in the Islands of Lesvos (“Strategy and action plan for the improvement of competitiveness of tourism in the Municipality of Lesvos Island“, 2017) and Skiathos (“Strategy and action plan for the improvement of competitiveness of tourism in the Municipality of Skiathos Island“, 2017). The aims of the projects were, among others, to develop strategy for demand management focusing in their market mix optimization through goal setting and prioritization, to extend the tourist season and to improve & enrich the quality of their tourism products’ portfolio, after analyzing the origin and characteristics of the existing markets. Moreover, it has extended its collaborations in international level (e.g. Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation) Furthermore, Tourism Generis has been participating in many EU projects. Indicatively it has been partnering with the Greek Ministry of Tourism in the following projects, which were of utmost importance both for the Tourism Sector and for the under study regions: a. “Empower Mediterranean for smart tourism-Sustainability” b. “Empower Mediterranean for smart tourism-Strengthening the tourism sector”, both within the PANORAMED Program & c. “INVESTMENT Program (INnovatiVe E-Services for booSting Tourist economy and Multimodal Public Transportation)” -Interreg Greece-Italy 2014-2020 Program. Finally, in the context of the consultancy services that the company provides, has realized, up to now, more than 10 seminars, (about: preparing Greek tourism businesses for the Chinese outbound tourists, seasonality-extension of the tourist season, managing tourism in times of crisis), addressing to more than 3.000 participants, from more than 90 companies, coming from a wide range of tourist companies (hotels, Tour Operators, Travel Agents, airlines, airports, events & conference organizers, destination management organizations, national tourism organizations and the Ministry of Tourism).
